The 6th annual Shine and Dine on Bruce Street will happen on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Set in Historic Downtown Sevierville, the event features live music from The Velcro Pygmies, moonshine cocktails, food trucks, and more.
Sip, Savor, and Sounds at Shine and Dine
August is notoriously hot and humid in the South. What better way to beat the heat than with fire water and ice? Teams from some of Tennessee’s most popular distilleries will be serving moonshine cocktails and offering tastings of their corn liquor. Sample various moonshine brands and flavors to find your favorites. Also, discover new cocktail recipes to make at home.
Savor some of the area’s most crave-able dishes from various food trucks and local restaurants. Shine and Dine occurs at the Sevierville Downtown Gazebo, directly across from The Appalachian Restaurant. The event is adjacent to Trotter’s Whole Hog BBQ and Graze Burgers, and it is just a block away from The Pines Downtown, Pinchey’s Lobster & Beer, and the new Red’s Soda Fountain. The event is a fantastic time to explore the growth of Historic Downtown Sevierville.
Headlining the event, The Velcro Pygmies is a larger-than-life rock and roll band bringing big hair and bigger sounds to downtown Sevierville. The band will be covering some of the hottest ‘80s and ’90s rock hits when they take the stage at 8:00pm.
“After last year’s concert with the Velcro Pygmies almost rained out, those who stayed had a ridiculously great time once the storms cleared. We’re thrilled to bring the band back for an encore performance,” said Ashley Burnette-Davis, Sevierville Commons Association Executive Director. “This promises to be the most fun event downtown this year, where guests can enjoy fantastic music from the ’80s and ’90s, a wide array of moonshine samples, and delicious food from our local food trucks. It’s an evening you won’t want to miss!”
Rain and Shine
This event will happen rain or shine. In case of severe weather, organizers will delay the show’s start time. Attendees can visit the many great downtown businesses to wait out the weather.
The gate opens at 5 p.m. Sponsors and those who braved the storms and stayed for the concert last year will be invited to the pre-party with the Velvet Pygmies. Please bring proof such as photos from last year’s event.
Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and relax on the Downtown Sevierville Gazebo lawn. Find the gazebo at 136 Bruce Street, Sevierville. The street will be closed to accommodate the array of vendors. However, plenty of parking is available at the gravel lot across from Pinchey’s Lobster & Beer.
Purchase tickets in advance or at the gate. Visit the event’s Facebook page for more details and don’t miss the chance to see the Velvet Pygmies live in downtown Sevierville!
This special event in Sevierville is a fundraiser for the Sevierville Commons Association, which is an organization honoring the historic qualities of the historic district. The many businesses in and around downtown compose the group, and the members work together to harbor the area’s revitalization. Learn more here.
